Armitage Forbes was the son of Reverend A. Forbes M.A., grandson of Rt Hon. Edward Litton, M.P. for Coloraine, Master Chancery, Dublin. Armitage was a doctor on ships (sailed with Sir Thomas Lipton), was washed overboard from “Taiyaun” in the Great Australian Bight in 1912. Marine tombstone in Toowong Cemetery, Queensland.
